Deborah (Tattrie) Keenan, 63, of Bridgewater, MA passed away on April 15th, 2024 after a lengthy illness. She was the cherished wife of Gerald Keenan of Bridgewater.
She was the daughter of the late Donald and late Rosemary Tattrie of West Bridgewater. She was the loving sister of William Tattrie and his wife Linda of Brockton, James Tattrie and his wife Virginia of Berkely, the late Robert Tattrie of Wrentham, Donna Malandra and her husband Richard of East Bridgewater, Denise Tattrie and her husband Otis of Westwood, Donald Tattrie of Hyannis, sister in law to Denise Keenan of Rockland, Kathy Liolios and her husband Charlie of Plymouth, aunt to Victoria and Collins Bosah, and Molly and Kyle Liolios. Deborah also leaves behind loving friends James and Marie Scott of Whitman and James and Patti Kruskall of East Bridgewater. She will be sorely missed by the Bridgewater congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and many many more.
Deborah had a lengthy career in the dental field. As a young girl, in 1977 she started working for the late Dr. Richard Guidoboni DDS, she would walk there after school, there she learned to do some office work, and eventually learned how to assist the doctor with various procedures. When Dr. Guidoboni retired, in 1998, Dr. David Violette DDS bought the practice and Deb started working for him, in the same office. Deb eventually became certified in various aspects
of the dental field, like dental assistant, and X-ray, she handled many front desk responsibilities, and office management. When Dr. Violette semi-retired in 2022, Dr. Hahn bought the practice, and yes, she started working for him in the same office. In Debs 46-year long career, she developed so many relationships with patients, and with multi generations of families in the dental practice. So many of her work associates and patients would speak of her as being “the most caring, thoughtful, empathetic person they’ve ever met.”
Deborah really enjoyed working in her many gardens all around her house. She really had a green thumb, some of her flowers and plants were exquisite. She was an animal lover too, except for the woodchucks that would eat her flowers. That was probably the only thing that made her mad, although she wouldn’t do anything to harm them because she would say, “they were too cute” and really, Deb couldn’t kill a fly. If there was a bug in the house, she would take it outside rather than kill it. Deb also enjoyed taking trips with her husband Jerry to lake Winnipesaukee in the summer for boating and the White Mountain’s in the fall to view the beautiful foliage and some hiking, she really enjoyed nature. Deb also loved her cats. She so missed her cat’s Tisha, Oliver, and Sophie when they died. She leaves behind her cat Ebony, her indoor cat, and the feral cats she would care for, Gwendelyn, Cesily, and Moochie.
Deb also enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. In 1974 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses. Being one of Jehovah’s witnesses was the most important thing to her. She loved her God Jehovah and wanted to do all she could do to please him. Deb was always involved with the meetings at the Kingdom Hall, by her comments during scriptural discussions, and her demonstrations of how to share her Bible based hope with others. Deb by nature, was a very quiet, shy, meek person, but she was by no means weak or coward like. Because of her love for Jehovah and her absolute confidence in the promises found in the Bible, for decades, every Friday and Saturday she would muster up the courage and go door to door to share her beautiful hope with others. Some months she would devote even more time to the ministry. Deb had many people she would visit multiple times, to help build their faith and appreciation for the beautiful promises found in the Bible. Deb and her husband Jerry also had the privilege to conduct many Bible studies over the years, when people showed interest. Deb was truly a beautiful person inside and out.
A memorial service will be held for Deborah at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Saturday, May 4th at 2:00 PM, 339 Summer Street, Rockland, MA 02370.
