Mary J. "Mary Jo" Sheridan, a 29-year resident of Medford and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 88 years of age.
Mary Jo was born in Boston on September 29, 1935, a daughter of the late Francis X. Sheridan and Catherine G. (Quinn) Sheridan. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School in 1953. Mary Jo worked for the New England Telephone Company starting out as an operator and retiring as a Telephone Supervisor following over 35 dedicated years of service. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America. In her spare time, Mary Jo enjoyed reading, poetry and animals.
Mary Jo is the loving mother of the late Michele Rose Sheridan. She is the beloved daughter of the late Francis X. Sheridan and Catherine G. (Quinn) Sheridan. She is the devoted sister of Francis X. Sheridan Jr. and John T. Sheridan and his wife Marilyn. She is the loving aunt to Matthew Sheridan and his wife Charlie Trotman, Katherine Sheridan-Smith and her husband Jeffrey, Keith Sheridan and his wife Lisa and also her 3 grandnieces and 1 grandnephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary Jo's visiting hours on Friday afternoon, April 26, 2024, from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. with her Funeral Service at 3:30 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
