Obituary

GILFORD, NH ---- formerly of Waban, MA and Revere, MA ---- Lee Anthony Duncan (Kayo), 82, passed away, suddenly on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at his home.

Lee was born, August 14, 1941, in Boston, Ma., and was the beloved son of Dr. Christopher Duncan and Virginia (Costello) Duncan.

Lee attended private schools in his younger years, and graduated from Newton High School, Class of 61. He then entered Boston College. However, after two years he decided to leave college to join the military. After training, Lee was selected as a member of the 5th Special Forces Green Beret A Team in Vietnam. Upon his return from the service, it was then that he met his loving wife of 55 years, Maureen Cowan Duncan.

Lee was an avid skier, loved his motorcycle trips with the boys, snowmobiling, his boat, Dun Rowin, and his trips to Maine with his family. As their most dedicated fan, Buckee could be found, rain or shine, cheering on his grandchildren and their teams at all of their games. And in the morning, you could always find Lee having breakfast with the boys!!!
Lee served as Commodore of the Glendate Yacht Club, Co-Chair on the Town of Gilford Conversation Commission and on the Board of the former Youth Services.

He worked at Metz Electronics and MEC Communication, as VP of Operations Manager. Upon retiring, he worked at Irwin Motors part time.

Lee is survived by his wife, Maureen, his daughter Kimberlee Duncan Reich and her husband, Michael of Bedford, NH; his brother Clarke Duncan and his wife Rennie of North Andover, MA; his sister, Joan Duncan Loring and her husband Richard of Norfolk, MA; brother-in-law, James Cowan of Newburyport, MA; grandchildren, Meredith and Duncan Reich of Bedford, NH; godchildren, Anne Duncan Rogan of Foxboro, MA and Aaron Nelson of Walpole, MA and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lee is predeceased by his brothers Christopher Duncan, Paul Duncan and his wife Joan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Andre Bessette Parish – Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH
