James Maxwell Moye, 75, of Ty Ty passed away Sunday. November 2, 2003, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, 6, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Pastor Brice Trigg and Pastor Fran Bredenkamp officiating. Mr. Moye was laid to rest at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton.
Billy Dupree, Scott Dupree, Michael Baker, Ron Pitts, Roy Sumner and Frank Polk served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Milton Sledge, Charles Sledge, Donald Benson, Buddy Walters and Gordon Philbrick.
Born October 1, 1928, in Worth County, Mr. Moye was the son of the3 late Gilbert DeVane Moye and Maybelle Sumner Moye. He was also preceded in death by three sisters. He was a retired farmer; and he was a member of Tifton's Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was also United States military veteran and he had lived in Ty Ty his entire life.
Mr. Moye is survived by his wife, Florine June Daniel Moye of Ty Ty; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Stanley James and Geri Moye of Albany and Dennis Walter Moye of Atlanta; four sisters, Grace Moye of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, Merle Robert of Birmingham, Alabama, Clarice Polk of Black Mountain, North Carolina and Bobbie Jean Baker of Loganville; and three grandchildren, Jessica Anne Moye, James Maxwell Moye and Anna Roberta Moye, all of Albany.
