Velma Sizemore Kelly, 86, of Tifton passed away Sunday, August 31. 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. Kelly at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. Douglas Gibson officiated.
Mrs. Kelly's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Born October 30, 1916, in Worth County, Mrs. Kelly was the daughter of the late Clarence Franklin Sizemore and Claudia Lou Griffin Sizemore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Alvis Kelly; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and nine brothers and sisters. Before retiring, she worked in the kitchen at Tift Health Care; and she was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Brenda Kelly and Freddie and Carolyn Kelly, all of Tifton; one daughter, Susan Clarice Kelly Richardson of Omega; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
