Mildred Willis Kirkland, 82, of Lenox passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at Tift Health Care. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Billy Murphy officiating. Mrs. Kirkland was laid to rest at Lenox Cemetery.
Hank Hayes, Dean hayes, Tony Esxum and Casey Kitchens served as pallbearers.
Born May 22, 1921, in Brooks County, Mrs. Kirkland was the daughter of the late John Crawford Willis and Beulah Rutland Willis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Ancle Kirland, who passed away in 1986; and three brothers. Leroy Willis, Russell P. Willis and John S. Willis. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Eldorado Baptist Church.
Mrs. Kirkland is surived by two brother, Lester Willis of Pavo and Ezell Willis of Bonifay, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and two great-nieces, Wanda Hayes and Hope Exum, both of Lenox.
