Gary Eugene "Papa Duck" Young, 73, of Anderson died April 14, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family, after an extended illness.
Gary was born October 10, 1950 in Anderson, the son of Rodney Young and Barbara (White) Schuyler.
Gary worked production at Guide Lamp division of General Motors before retiring in 2000. He was a fan of all sports and racing and was awarded "Colts Fan of the Year".
He is survived by his wife, Terri (Lambert) Young of Anderson whom he married October 6, 1998 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; two daughters, Michelle (David) Shaneyfelt of Orestes and Rhonda Young of Anderson; adopted son, Ace (Golden Doodle); three grandchildren, Austin (Angel) Peoples, Elizabeth Shaneyfelt and McKinsey (Ivan) Carmack; eight great-grandchildren, Adrian, Abryel, Jaeden, Ari, Santana, Briley, Taylor and Maddie; uncle, Jerry (Karen) White; sister, Sherri (Tom) Volz; brothers-in-law, Jim (Barb) Lambert and Don (Cinda) Lambert;; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Kenny Lambert.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Paradigm Hospice for their compassion, along with Kathy Smith and all other care givers.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Dan Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be given to Animal Protection League; Parkinson's Disease or Special Olympics of Indiana.
