MOULTONBOROUGH --- Jean “Mem” Marie Smith, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at her home in Moultonborough, NH surrounded by loved ones.
Jean spent her life devoted to her family. She married the love of her life, Warren Smith “Poppy,” at the age of 16. After having 5 boys, the family moved from Massachusetts to Sanbornton, NH. Jean was called “Mem” by many as she was a mother figure to all. She worked at Franklin Savings Bank and Zayres Department Store where she made many friends as she was a social butterfly! She was the cornerstone of our family and the rock in so many of our lives.
She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Julia Dalton, the love of her life, Warren E. Smith “Poppy” who passed in 1999, and her son Alan Matthew Smith who passed in 1988.
She is survived by her sons and their families; James Smith and his wife Kymm, of Moultonborough, NH and their children, Tia, AJ and Emma, her granddaughter Tasha Laro and her husband TJ and their children Kadance and Tanner; David Smith of Moultonborough, NH, and his children Angel and Brittany; Mark Smith, of Washington state, and his children Jordan, Elijah, Alan and Moriah, Alan’s daughter Nikki Sullivan, and her husband Matt, and their sons Deegan and Evan, of Northfield, NH; Warren Smith and his wife Kristy, of Sanbornton, NH, and his children, Heather, Amanda and Warren “Buddy;” as well as so many other loved great-grandchildren.
So long Mem, we will miss you so much.
Per Jean’s request, there will be no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers and her love of humming birds, please hang a hummingbird feeder on your porch and think of Jean.
