Bernard O’Neill of Brooklyn, NY, died on March 17, 2024 at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He was 61 years of age. Mr. O’Neill worked as a Medical Copy Editor and Proofreader in NYC for the past 35 years.
Mr. O’Neill was born August 10, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY to his late parents, William and Loretta (McLaughlin) O’Neill.
Bernard is survived by his Siblings: Mary Ann O’Neill, Theresa Nelson, Dorothy Aiello, William O’Neill Jr., James O’Neill, and Loretta Krawiec; his In-Laws: Jeff Aiello, Carolyn O’Neill, and Ray Krawiec; his Nieces: Mary O’Neill and Megan Krawiec; his Nephews: Jeffrey Aiello, Michael Krawiec, and Knox O’Neill; his Grandnieces: Ashley Umanzor O’Neill, and Harper Aiello, and Grandnephews: Joseph Maldonado O’Neill and Hudson Aiello.
Bernard was a movie and television enthusiast who was well known to be the living encyclopedia of movie and TV show trivia knowledge. His favorite genre was Sci-Fi and he was a big fan of the Star Wars and Star Trek movies as well as the Star Trek television show and other shows from the 70’s and 80’s. Bernard will be remembered for his invaluable contribution to the accuracy of medical journals positively impacting patient survival. He was also an organ donor and is responsible for giving the gift of sight to two previously blind individuals.
