Ernest W. Sennett, Sr., 82, of Westport passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Catholic Memorial Home. He was the beloved husband of the late Claire M. (Cahill) Sennett.
Mr. Sennett was born in Houlton, ME son of the late John O. and Ethel P. (Terrill) Sennett and had been a longtime resident of Westport. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He had worked at Sikorsky Aircraft in Bridgeport, CT, Raytheon, RI, St. Vincent de Paul Camp, Westport and retired from St. Vincent's Home, Fall River. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a great sense of humor. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family especially his late wife, she was his whole world.
Survivors include his son: Ernest W. Sennett, Jr. and his wife Linda of Crestview, FL; his 2 daughters; Anne M. Bahm and her husband Bracy of MN and Karen L. Chretien and her husband Brian of Assonet; siblings: Alan Sennett, Velma Nason, Lynda Schools, Barbara Foster and Phyllis Hershey, all of Houlton, ME; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Rachel, Krista, Ashley and Katlin; 2 great grandchildren: Layla and Luna; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Amanda Sennett and brother of the late Donna Sennett, Keith Sennett, Jim Sennett, Duane Sennett, Buddy Sennett, Wendell Sennett and Mike Sennett.
The Family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Catholic Memorial Home for the compassionate care they gave to both Mr. and Mrs. Sennett.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Tuesday, at the Potter Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
