Britta Constance “Connie” Wold died April 8, 2024 on the day of a total solar eclipse and shortly after celebrating for 100th birthday on January 20th. She died peacefully at Medway Country Manor. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence H. Wold who died in 1998 and Richard F. O'Reilly who died in 1978.
Born in Norwood on January 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Britta (Henningson) Kallgren. Connie enjoyed a vibrant life. Soon after graduating from Walpole High School, she supported the war effort as a renowned “Rosie the Riveter”, manufacturing munitions for the war effort. After the war Connie married Richard and settled in Walpole MA. After his passing, she married Lawrence and settled in Medway in 1980. Connie and Larry both worked at Kendall Company in Walpole and upon their retirement, travelled extensively throughout the United States in their camper.
Connie was a member of the Medway Village Church. She was an avid cribbage player and also enjoyed making crafts at the Senior Center and playing poker with the “guys”.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynne VanWinterswyk of Louisiana and Patricia Boily of Alaska, along with two stepchildren Kathryn (Wold) Bullock of Medway and Barry Wold of Boston. She is also survived by her sister Susan of California along with 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews and cousin Linda. She was the mother of the late Richard O”Reilly and sister of the late Samuel Kallgren and Nancy Kallgren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Wednesday, April 17th at 10 a.m. at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (ginleyfuneralhomes.com). Burial will take place at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 16th from 4 – 7:00 p.m.
