Hiram Lewis Chambers, 63, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, April 14, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. David Ash officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends after the services.
Mr. Chambers was born May 4, 1960, in Uvalda, Georgia, to the late William Lewis Chambers & Eloise Walker Mosley. He was the cemetery supervisor for the City of Fitzgerald and also worked for Gilman Building Products. Mr. Chambers was an avid pool player and fisherman, he enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruby Chambers; a son, Jeremy Lewis Chambers & Kari of Waterloo and a daughter-in-law Lindi Chambers of Fitzgerald; four grandchildren: Ashlee Nicole Chambers, Brandon Dylan Chambers, Tyler Drake Chambers and Melody Jadyn Chambers; a brother, John Chambers & Carolyn of Fitzgerald; a sister, Sally Poole & Stanley of Vidalia and a special family friend, Terry Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Hiram Brandon Chambers and a half-brother, Hubert Walker.
Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.
