Malcolm White of Ipswich, MA (Formerly of Newton, MA) passed away on March 31st, 2024. He was 53 years old. Malcolm is preceded by his late father, Bruce White of Rockport, MA, his late mother, Suzanne White (Matzinger) of Seattle, WA, and his late brother, Robert White, also of Seattle, WA. He leaves his sister, Molly Miller-White of Rockport, MA, his stepmother, Barbara Miller of Rockport, MA, his brother’s child, Sam White of Seattle, WA, many cousins, aunts, and uncles in California, Seattle, and North Carolina and many close friends throughout Massachusetts.
“Mal” was a 1988 Newton North High School graduate who attended Ithaca College and UMASS Boston. He was a beloved soul who always had a quick wit and an incredible sense of humor. He spent much of his youth and early adult years at Camp Chickami in Wayland, MA, leaving an indelible mark on all the campers and other counselors who worked alongside him. Mal will be dearly missed by his entire “Chick” family, who will always love him immeasurably. While working at the Ipswich Ale Brewery, Mal developed a tight community with his colleagues, who quickly became his friends. With them, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. Mal always brought a bag of Fritos for luck on his many fishing ventures. If Mal caught the first fish, everyone knew it would be a good day (we credit you for this, Mal, not the Fritos.) Mal was a die-hard fan of the local Boston sports teams, especially the Bruins and Red Sox. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, April 23rd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Ipswich Ale Brewery at 2 Soffron Lane, Ipswich, MA, 01938.
