On April 6, 2024, Lawrence “Skip” A. Fournier, 74, of Derry, NH, after a long courageous battle with colorectal cancer died surrounded by the comfort of his family. Born in West Stewartstown, NH on September 27, 1949, son of the late David Fournier and Beverley ‘Jean’ (Emery) Guinard.
He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War before earning his degree from NH College. He then had a successful career as a corporate accountant. For 25 years, Skip enjoyed being a member of “The Hawg Squad’ bass fishing club and had numerous tournaments throughout New England with his son Scott. He was an avid deer hunter and all-around sportsman - coaching the local recreational basketball teams and known for building and maintaining the greatest backyard hockey rink ever. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, wit, and his positivity these past four years while enduring a leg amputation and reoccurring cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Gail (Russell) Fournier; son, Scott Fournier and his wife Kelsea; his beloved chocolate lab, Maddie; two brothers, Michael Fournier and David Fournier; two sisters, Susan Gregg and Ginger Jourdenais; as well as many extended family members, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the Manchester VA for all the help they provided to keep Skip mobile and positive these past four years and for the support of family and friends.
