WILLIAM F. KING, age 59, a Woburn resident, passed away on April 5th, after a long and extremely courageous battle with cancer. Born in Woburn on February 10, 1965, Bill was raised there and attended local schools. During his career as a talented mechanic, he worked alongside his father at Kraft Foods Manufacturing in Woburn, as well as other local companies.
Bill was known as the most generous person with his skills and his time, as he would do anything and everything he could to help others. If you knew Bill, chances are you benefitted at one time or another from this generosity. He didn't need to be asked for help; he would just show up and get the job done without expecting anything in return.
In addition to helping others, Bill found joy in many things. He was an avid motorcyclist and also loved to go camping and traveling with his wife. In recent years, they took trips in their RV across country, taking time to stop and explore everyplace of interest along the way. He was also a fantastic chef and loved to cook and barbecue for his family and friends. Bill also put tremendous effort into working on the Shannon Lee Meara Foundation to help prevent dating abuse and domestic violence.
He leaves, and will be forever missed by, his most loving wife Arlene King. He was the beloved son of Sylvia King of Woburn and the late Francis King and loving brother of Christina Hay and her husband Eric of Fenton, MI and the late James King. He also leaves and will be remembered by his three stepdaughters Amanda, Angela, and Kristina Joyal, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 12th, from 4 to 8pm at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 13th, at 10 a.m. at St. Barbara's Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
