CAMPTON ---- Scott M. Shields, 68, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Concord Hospital-Laconia.
Born in Keene, June 5, 1955 to David and Shirley (Gray) Shields, Scott was raised in the Franklin and Laconia area, graduating from Laconia High School. As a child, Scott played Babe Ruth baseball. He learned to ski at Veteran’s Memorial Ski Area in Franklin where he exhibited his gift as a natural downhill skier and found his joy for forerunning a course for colleges at Gunstock Ski Area. While living in Franklin, his mother knitted matching sweaters, for him, his brother, and father to wear as they lead one of the Veteran’s Memorial Ski Area Winter Carnival Parades. He worked in construction, as well as in the trucking industry where he had been through all 48 contiguous states. He was a natural handyman, able to fix anything.
In his free time, Scott loved riding his Harley Davidson, hunting, hiking and ice fishing. He took tremendous pride in his home. He continually praised his wife Belinda about her beautiful gardens and how good she was to him and how much he loved her, and couldn’t imagine his life without her. He was always true to his friends, always there for them when needed.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his wife of 38 years, Belinda Shields; step-son Joshua (Annlouise) Porter; grandson Anthony Porter; brother Timothy (Nancy) Shields; sister Sundee (Russell) Dumais; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father David Shields.
Scott was a kind, loving husband to Bindy, and his immediate family, a fun-loving brother to his sister and brother, and a very thoughtful son to his mother.
SCOTT WAS JUST A GREAT GUY!
