Obituary

CHICOPEE – Carol C. (Hebert) Moran, 74, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 6, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on July 6, 1949, a beloved daughter of the late Edgar M. Hebert and Lucille M. (Marcel) Hebert Beaulieu. She was raised in Granby and moved to Chicopee where she graduated from Chicopee High School, Class of 1967, and lived in Chicopee for most of her life. She was an Administrative Assistant for over 49 years at WGGB Channel 40 in Springfield and retired in 2019. While at WGGB, Carol was instrumental in the organization and success of various charitable programs including the Spirit of Springfield, Relay for Life, and Thanksgiving for All. She was an avid tag sale and flea market frequenter, and enjoyed traveling, including trips to Bermuda, the Caribbean, and to Ireland. She enjoyed baking and crafting, but most especially spending time with her family and many friends. She was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church in Springfield. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Edward J. Moran. They were married on July 24, 1976 and were blessed with over 47 years of happiness together. She also leaves her two loving and devoted sons, Matthew E. Moran and his wife, Lauren, of Marblehead, MA, and Ryan P. Moran and his wife, Kristen, of Ludlow; her two cherished granddaughters, Molly and Hannah Moran; her five dear siblings, James Hebert and his wife, Denise, of Hampden, Charmaine Bertrand and her husband, Allen, of Hudson, NH, Thomas Hebert and his wife, Terry, of San Antonio, TX, Mary Lou Sicard and her husband, William, of Chicopee, and Brenda Crawford of Chicopee; her dear sister in law, Betsy (Hadley) Hayslett and her husband, Charlie, of Pasadena, TX; her dear brother in law, Bruce Hadley of Alvin, TX; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved stepfather, Ernest Beaulieu. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, Springfield, MA 01104. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
