Jonathan Corey Way, aged 51, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, passed away suddenly on April 3 at his home.
Born in Utica, New York, Jonathan was the beloved son of Pamela D. Alborough and the late George F. Way. He was also a cherished stepson to Pamela’s husband, Thomas Alborough and George’s wife Terri Way.
Jonathan was a graduate of Tri County High School in Franklin, class of 1990 with a focus in Culinary Arts. Jonathan had a passion for cooking, particularly making homemade pasta and bolognese for his friends and family whenever the opportunity arose. He also had a genuine love for Legos, enjoyed playing pitch with his friends, and took great pleasure in caring for his pet rabbit, Valkrey.
Growing up, Jonathan was also deeply passionate about the Boy Scouts and dedicated himself to achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He worked diligently to meet the requirements and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills throughout his scouting journey.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Pamela Alborough, and his step-father, Thomas Alborough of Bellingham. He is also survived by his step-mother, Terri Way of New Hampshire.
Additionally, he leaves behind his brothers, James Way and his wife Marilyn Way of Whitinsville, and Jeffrey Way and his partner David MacArthur Jr. of Worcester as well as his ex-wife Bonnie Way of South Carolina.
Jonathan is further survived by his step-brothers, Jason Alborough and his wife Rachel Alborough of West Virginia, Chris Alborough and his wife Nerissa Alborough of Kentucky, Jay Keaney and his wife Ann Strout of New Hampshire, and Brian Keaney of Massachusetts.
Jonathan is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Although their names were not provided, these extended family members held a special place in Jonathan's heart and their presence brought him much happiness throughout his life.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 11 at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) located at 3 Barber Street, Medway, at 5:00 p.m. Visitation for friends and family will take place on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
