Diane C. O’Connell, age 55, of Lawrence, formerly of Winchester and Falmouth, passed away on April 4, 2024. Born in Winchester, she was the daughter of Anne L. (Maguire) and the late Daniel J. O’Connell.
Diane was raised and educated in Winchester and attended Winchester High School. She worked for many happy years for the Boston Red Sox. She also enjoyed summers on the beach at Cape Cod.
Known for her adventurous spirit, Diane is remembered for being friendly and welcoming. She loved her many nieces and nephews and her two cats and was also an avid Red Sox fan.
In addition to her mother, Diane is lovingly survived by her siblings: Edward W. O’Connell and his wife Beth of Winchester, Mary E. Jutras and her husband Kevin of Shirley, Daniel J. O’Connell Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Winchester, John D. O’Connell of North Falmouth, and Elizabeth R. O’Connell of Burlington. She was also the loving aunt of Tim, Shannon, Maribel, Eddie, Courtney, Olivia, Emma, Jake, Katie and Ronan, and the great-aunt of Penelope and Genevieve. She also leaves behind her long-time fiancé Edward Kowalski, her much loved aunts Mary Duran and Mary Maguire and a special thank you to Brenda Finn.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Visiting Hours at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Tuesday, April 9 from 4-7PM, and again on Wednesday, April 10 at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 10AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
