Martin Edward Davis
1934- 2024
Martin “ED” Davis of Mystic CT passed away on March 29,2024 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 19, 1934, Ed’s family moved to Michigan where he attended and graduated from Kingsley High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U. S. Navy.
Ed proudly served for over 20 years, primarily in the Submarine Service, sacrificing time with his family in the service of his Country. He later instructed at the Groton Sub School, ultimately retiring as a Senior Chief in 1972.
Ed met his wife of 65 Years, dancing their first dance together as the Tommy Dorsey Band played on the stage in front of them. Ed is predeceased by his wife, Hilda Richter Davis, and survived by his son Michael Davis and wife Anne, daughter Cindy Green and husband Patrick and daughter Laura Hardy and husband John. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1830 Route 12, Gales Ferry. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
