Larry Brown, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his two daughters and wife.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Abba Cemetery, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with the Rev. Howard Kitchens officiating. The family will greet friends following the services at the cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born January 21, 1952, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Jimmy James Brown and the late Irma Dale Young. He was a 1971 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, and attended ABAC. He worked for CSX railroad, drove a log truck, and spent the majority of his life as a agriculture equipment salesman. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls, riding horses, and water skiing. He loved being around family and friends, especially his three grandkids. He was known for making people laugh with his jokes.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Brown; two children: Kristie B. Cleghorn & Mac, and Kendall Boyd; three grandchildren: Cam Cleghorn, Blaire Boyd and Bree Boyd; nieces and nephew: Terry Hout, Ginger Pitchford, Kelli Griffin, Kole Gibbs, Elli Ash and Molli Griffin; brother in-law: Donnie Gibbs & Dawn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Kathryne Kent.
