Robert Francis Ross, Jr., 69, of Londonderry, NH passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 17, 1954 in Lynn, MA, a son of Robert Ross, Sr. and Dorothy (Pratt) Ross. He was raised and educated in Saugus, MA and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Boston State College. Bob had been a resident of Londonderry since 1986.
Bob was employed for 43 years by the General Electric Company, primarily at their Lynn location and retired as a contract agent. He was an amateur photographer and was able to do freelance work for the Derry News and Lynn Daily Item. Bob also had opportunities to shoot sporting events at Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park and was an avid Boston sports fan. He was actively involved in Londonderry civic events and he was the recipient of the 2000 Civic Volunteer of the year. Bob coached recreational baseball and basketball. He was a past president of the Londonderry Friends of Music and was a 2016 inductee into the Londonderry High School Hall of Fame. He loved to travel and had made several trips with the high school band and traveled extensively with his family. Bob was the beloved “BiBi” of Carter and Claire.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Kathleen (Mahoney) Ross; a son, Christopher (Jenna Yagjian) Ross; a daughter, Jennifer (Thomas) Stonehouse, his grandchildren, Carter and Claire Stonehouse, and one brother, Stephen "Doug" (Nancy) Ross. He was predeceased by his sister, Lori A. Phillips.
After cremation, visitation will be held on Tuesday April 9, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH with a memorial service from 3 to 4pm.
