It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories we announce the passing of Dennis J. Maginnis, Sr. of South Boston. Dennis passed away on March 31st peacefully and with the love he gave so freely.
A devoted father to Dennis Maginnis Jr. (Laurie Sullivan) of Dorchester, Scott (Maria) Maginnis of Dorchester, Kelly (Bob) Sieckhaus of Saint Louis, MO., Colleen (John) Mersereau of Plymouth, and Meghan Collins of Homestead, FL.
Our Dad was a good friend to our Mother, Margaret Crowe, and her son, our brother, Patrick Crowe.
He was a loving Grandfather to Kylie, Robert, Brendan, John, Nora, Ryan, Jaime, Leo, Bailey, Sean, Lily, Celia, and Martin, and great-grandfather to Ryan and Sebastian.
Predeceased by his parents, Roderick and Mary (Cronin) Maginnis, his brothers; Charles, Paul, Rick, and Jack Maginnis; and his sister, Helen Riley.
Survived by his beloved sisters, Mary Cassino of Weymouth and Jeanne Lavey of Braintree. He was the happy-go-lucky uncle to many nieces and nephews he loved so dearly.
Dennis worked for Gillette at their Andover, MA., location for 30 years. For most of his career, he was a Senior Cost Analyst.
Our Dad loved Westerns, sharing stories of times gone by, crossword puzzles, board games, cards, a good spuckie or pizza, a cigar now and then, a dry Martini with two olives, a cold beer, and a barstool where he never met a stranger.
We would like to acknowledge the outpouring of support from all our father's friends and family and express our deepest gratitude for making what was one of the hardest times of our lives just a little bit sweeter by your presence. The laughter, the stories, and the love carried us through.
Visiting hours are 12 – 2 pm Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston, on Sunday, April 7th, 2024.
