Born January 1, 1948, in Thomas County, Mrs. Woodard was the daughter of the late Henry Lenzy Webb and Mavey Ruth Jones Webb. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Woodard, who passed away in 1986 and who she married on February 7, 1966; and one daughter, Dedra Ruth Woodard. She was a homemaker; and she was of the Holiness faith and attended Unity Tabernacle in Tifton. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a willing worker for the Lord. Whenever the church doors were open, she was there. She wrote songs and sang at church; and she loved to sew, paint and draw.
In her final years, she was not the lady, mama and nanny we knew, but the greatest pleasure we have is to know she is healed. She may not have received her healing on this earth, but she has it now rejoicing in heaven.
Mrs. Woodard is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Melenda Woodard Sexton and her husband, Dewey Sexton of Omega and Alice Woodard Sullivan of Allentown; five grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and Andrew Belcher, Kayla and Justin Carter, Rebecca and Denson Ferrell, LeAnn and Brandon Smith and Stephanie and Josh Everett; and twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the family.
