Robert C. (Bob) Hooley, 96, a lifelong resident of Ossining passed away on March
31, 2024. He was born in Ossining to Charles and Altia (Childs) Hooley.
Bob graduated from Ossining High School in 1945 and Rutgers University.
Mr. Hooley enjoyed a forty-year career as a Banker that began at the First National
Bank of Ossining. He was a life member of the Ossining Steamer Company,
Ossining Fire Department, a devoted member of the Ossining Rotary Club and The
Point Senasqua Rod and Reel Club of Ossining. He was also a board member of
Phelps Memorial Hospital and trustee of Dale cemetery. Mr. Hooley served as
treasurer of the Baker/Collyer Cheer Fund for forty-five years. He was a member
of the First Presbyterian Church of Ossining and the Presbyterian Church of Mount
Kisco.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy (Miller-Thomas) and his brother
Herbert (Dagmar). He is also survived by his children: Christopher Thomas
(Rebecca), Timothy Thomas (Marcia), Robert Hooley Jr. (Lynn) and Ruthann
Connolly (John), Eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Hooley loved his family, the Hudson River, boat building and the restoration of
his antique Chevrolet. But he will be remembered most as a pillar of the Ossining
community and for his kindness, generosity and willingness to help anyone in
need.
Burial services will be held privately. A memorial service will be held at a future
date. Donations can be made to the Baker/Collyer Cheer Fund, in Mr. Hooley’s
