Obituary

PADUCAH, KY – Roland W. Mallas, Jr., 82, formerly of Webster, MA died Monday, April 1, 2024 at Southgate Nursing Rehab in Metropolis, IL.

He leaves 4 children: Dawn Willette and her husband Todd, James Mallas, Tim Mallas, Sr. and his wife Kimberly, and Christina Mallas; 9 grandchildren, Desaray Mallas, Timothy Mallas, Jr., Ashley Mallas, Zachariah Mallas, Julia Mallas, Lilianna Mallas, Elijah Strickland, Caleb Mallas, and Amelia Mallas; a great-grandson, Jacob Smith; a great-granddaughter Roselyn Williams; 2 sisters, Claire Plasse and Patricia Mallas; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Chicago and raised in Webster, MA, a son of Roland W. Mallas, Sr. and Audrey (Dow) Mallas. He moved to Kentucky in the 1990’s.

He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Mallas was a retired truck driver for Roadmax.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 3, in the Lindsay Funeral Home, Paducah.
A second service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 8, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, MA. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster, with military honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 AM Monday morning in the funeral home, prior to the service.
