Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Rejeanne L. (Duquette) Dubuc, 94, a longtime resident of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, March 28, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Linda Manor Extended Care in Leeds surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in LaPatrie, Province of Quebec, Canada on December 7, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Odias and Anne-Marie (Laflamme) Duquette. She was raised and educated in Lac Megantic, P.Q., Canada, moved to Barre, Vermont in 1952, and settled in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield in August of 1970 where she lived for most of her life. When she was living in Canada, she was a Telephone Operator for Bell Canada. She was very proud of her French Canadian heritage and enjoyed listening to French music. Most of all, she loved raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren and many friends. She was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church in East Springfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Roland J. Dubuc who was Called Home on April 5, 1998. They were married in Canada on August 30, 1952 and were blessed with over 45 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving and devoted children, Donald R. Dubuc of Longmeadow and his partner, Karen Cichy of Goshen, and Anne-Marie J. Blake and her husband, Wayne, of Ludlow; her former daughter in law, Marisa Dubuc of Southwick; her four cherished grandchildren, Danielle Dubuc Rakich and her husband, Tony Rakich, Dylan Dubuc, George Blake and his wife, Kait, and Nathan Blake and his wife, Hannah; her cherished great grandson, Henry Blake; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members in the United States and Canada. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her cherished granddaughter, Stefanie Dubuc who was Called Home on May 2, 2008; and her 15 dear brothers and sisters. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (the funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, Springfield, MA 01104. Her Committal Service will be private at a later date at Saint Michael the Archangel Mausoleum in Springfield. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to her Mass. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in Rejeanne's memory to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to the Foundation for TJO Animals, 66 Industry Avenue, Springfield, MA 01104.
