Antoinette M. (Dionne) McGovern, 104, formerly of Johnston, passed away on Wednesday March 27th at Cra-Mar Meadows, Hope. She was the wife of the late James McGovern. They had been married for 64 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Medora (Leclair) Dionne and lived most of her life in Providence & Johnston.
Antoinette had been an Inspector and Machine Operator with the former Imperial Knife before retiring and was a member of the St. Joseph’s Women’s Guild.
She leaves behind her daughters Patricia (Peter M.) Brzostecki of West Warwick and Maureen McGovern of Providence. She was the grandmother of Erik (Lisa) Johansen, Kristin (Greg) Centracchio, Tricia (Brian) Lamoureux, and Peter J. Brzostecki. She was also the great-grandmother of nine and great-great-grandmother of two.
She was predeceased by her daughter Joan Johansen and son-in-law Walter, her grandson Steven Johansen, and her five siblings Wilfred Dionne, Raymond Dionne, Leona Flynn, Dora Gagne, and Malvina Champagne.
Her funeral will be held April 2nd at 10:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am in St. Joseph Church, North Scituate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation Tuesday from 9:30am to 10:30am.
