Obituary

Candace Ann Marston, 70, departed from this world on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, peacefully at her home, following a valiant two-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments.

Born on August 19, 1953, in Waltham, Candace was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Champagne and the late Cecelia Pearl (Gardner) Champagne. Much of her life was spent in Newton, punctuated with annual trips to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, which remained a very special place to her throughout her life.

Known for her dedication to caring for others, Candace selflessly supported her relatives throughout much of her life, mirroring the spirit of her own mother. Sewing was her principal hobby, and she enjoyed spending time crafting things for others. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she cared for a multitude of household pets throughout her lifetime, through which she demonstrated compassionate care for all the world’s creatures.

Candace had a great love for Children, and spent many years of employment providing at home childcare services when her own children were young. Later she spent many years fitting children with shoes in the Kids department of The Barn Family Shoe Store. Candace was happiest when playing with kids, her face lighting up brightly in response to their joy.

She is survived by her two children, Robert and his wife Rachel Marston of Virginia, and Crystal Marston of Lowell; as well as her two beloved grandchildren, Eli and Ethan. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her former husband and close confidant, Jimmy Boudreau of Newton. Candace was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services held. Instead, her memory will be cherished privately by those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever remembered in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
