Violet Hill
April 14, 1922- March 27, 2024
Violet Hill, 101, of Anderson, departed this life peacefully on March 27, 2024. She was born April 14, 1922 in Washington, IN. She resided in Anderson where she raised her family with her husband Fred of 59 years.
She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother also knows as “Triple G.” Violet retired from Delco Remy in 1987 after 32 years. She was very involved with her church community from circle meetings to volunteering for her church and always willing to be there for her congregation. One of her favorite things to do was work on her crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
She also enjoyed crocheting and donating her scarves she made to Community Hospital’s yearly coat drive. She was a good neighbor and never knew a stranger. During the summertime, she always loved sitting on the porch enjoying the sunshine and watching for the hummingbirds and wave to anyone that would go by!
Survivors include her son, Darrell Hill, four granddaughters, Kari Combs, Kristi Kovacs, Robyn Williams, and Alexis Hill. Her four great grandchildren, Matthew Kovacs, Zachary Combs, Avery Smith and Madysen Smith. And one great great grandchild, Avayah Chamberlain.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Hill, and her daughter, Connie Alexander and her two sisters.
A funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10 AM until the service at Noon.
