WORCESTER__Nancy A. (Bourke) Gallagher, 88, of Worcester, passed away on March 21, 2024 in the Christopher House in Worcester.
Nancy is survived by a daughter, Lisa Brothers of Worcester, and three sons, John Gallagher and his wife, Cynthia of Shrewsbury, Peter Gallagher and his wife, Judith of Auburn and Stephen Gallagher and his wife, Lin, of Oceanside, CA.
She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Bette Carr of Paxton and Susan O’Connor of Eagle, CO, several nieces and nephews and her former husband, James Gallagher. Nancy was predeceased by a son, Michael Gallagher, and by a granddaughter, Jamie Brothers. Nancy was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late George and Blanche (Lalanne) Bourke.
Ms. Gallagher worked as a waitress for several area restaurants before she retired. Previously she was a tax consultant, working for many years at H&R Block. Nancy graduated from St. Stephen’s High School and attended Worcester State College. Nancy was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed going to Las Vegas and to Foxwoods.
She was also an accomplisher knitter and for many years was a member of Craftworks, Northboro.
The funeral will be held on Thursday April 4, 2024 with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. DIRSA – MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, is assisting the family.
