Obituary

PARSONSFIELD - Michael “Lips” Joesph LaPanne, age 69 of Parsonsfield passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. The cause of death is still to be determined.

Mike was born June 28, 1954 at the Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire. He was very proud to be from New Hampshire and expressed that often. He went on to marry his beautiful wife, Lorraine LaPanne, on April 10th, 1974. This year they’ll be spending their 50th Anniversary together, in Heaven.

Most of his young adulthood Mike worked climbing water tanks and church steeples hundreds of feet in the air with Limerick Steeple Jacks. Since, he has worked at Lepage Auto as a mechanic and automotive painter. He enjoyed working in his garage on various vehicles, out landscaping his yard, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. “Lips” will be remembered by his assortment of tattoos from head-to-toe, his durag on his head, and a big SMILE on his face. Most of his friends know him as “Lips” because he liked to talk... a lot.

Mike is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Lorraine LaPanne; wife Lorraine LaPanne of Parsonsfield; siblings, Tommy LaPanne, Bruce LaPanne, Joey LaPanne, and Paul LaPanne; grandchild, Joesph Zahn; nephews, John “BRAT” Bubar, Paul LaPanne Jr.; great nephew, Shohn Bubar.

He is survived by his children, Bambi LaPanne-Lane and husband Aengus Lane of Parsonsfield, Anne Zahn and husband Mike Zahn of Parsonsfield; grandchildren, Dyllan Thompson and significant other Annie Lajoie of Cornish, Brandon Thompson and fiancée Autumn Carr of Limington, Brittani Thompson and significant other Thomas Spinney of Cornish, Selena Zahn of Parsonsfield; great granddaughter, Genasis Spinney of Cornish; siblings, Nelson LaPanne of Farmington, NH, Julie Plourde and husband Michael Plourde of Wilmington, NC, Peggy Laurent of Rochester, NH, Wayne LaPanne of Farmington, NH, Kathy LaPanne-Bubar and husband John Bubar of Parsonsfield, and Nicholas LaPanne of Farmington, NH; Plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family not listed above.

The Celebration of Life will be held on a later date in the warmer weather – the date to be determined and announced. The family would like to thank the Neal & York Funeral Home for all their kindness and compassion during this time; and Sonny Lepage of Lepage Auto for the constant love and support throughout Mike’s life, especially the last 20+ years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pope Memorial Humane Society, County Farm Rd, Dover, New Hampshire in Mike’s honor.

“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOOHOO, what a ride!”. This isn’t life in the fast lane, it's life in the oncoming traffic.”

We love you Dad/Bamp!
