Salem
Ronald L. Pelletier, 84, of Salem, passed away on March 24, 2024 at Advinia Care at Salem following a brief period of declining health. He was the devoted son of the late Joseph L. and Edith A. (Corbin) Pelletier.
Born in Exeter, NH and raised in Salem, he was a graduate of Salem High, Class of ‘ 59 and attended Salem Commercial School. During the war years he and his family lived in Newmarket, NH while his dad worked at the Portsmouth Navy Yard. Ron first worked for Fontaine’s Market in the Castle Hill section of Salem and for many years worked for Parker Brothers Games in Salem.
Ron was a very active, social and religious man who never let his Cerebral Palsy limit his activities and involvement with many organizations. He was a member of Ste. Anne Parish, the Holy Name Society, Ste. Anne Athletic Club, the Lynn Indoor Sports Club, and the Salem YMCA from the age of 18 through his 75th year. He was an avid sports fan and member of the Boston Braves Historical Society and the Newmarket, NH Historical Society.
Ron enjoyed spending time, chatting with family and his many friends. He was a friendly and easy person to be with. He is survived by his brother, Retired Father Leonard E. Pelletier of Salem and sister, Pauline A. Flahive and husband Frank of Billerica, niece, Laurie A. Smith and husband John of Billerica, Kevin J. Flahive and wife, Shannon of Tewksbury as well as grandnieces & grandnephews, Samantha & Matthew Smith, Colby & Alyssa Flahive and many cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [ Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM to be followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, Mary Queen of the Apostles Parish, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem at 11`:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours, in the funeral home, will be on Monday, April 1st, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, kindly contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
