Neil J. McGorty, 68 of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at his home with his wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline (Bureau) McGorty, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born on January 7, 1956, in Cambridge, MA, Neil J. McGorty was the son of the late Neil John McGorty and the late June M. (Cooper) McGorty. Raised in Tewksbury, he attended Tewksbury Public Schools before graduating from Shawsheen Tech High School. He spent the majority of his childhood in Tewksbury before moving to Pepperell and more recently moving to Nashua.
Neil dedicated 28 years of his career as an electronics technician at ESA before pursuing further certification as an oil burner technician. Following this, he served various oil companies in this capacity until his retirement in 2014. Known for his adeptness with his hands, Neil possessed a remarkable ability to fix or rebuild virtually anything. In his leisure time, he found solace in camping, fishing and bowling, and in his younger years, he indulged in golfing. He was also a valued member of the Tewksbury Elks and later Nashua Elks.
In addition to his wife, Jacqueline McGorty of Nashua, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Boisvert and her husband, Adam of Manchester, NH and Cheryl Landry of Ashburnham, MA; his grandchildren, Nora, Elise, and Claire Landry; his sisters, Dawna Roush and her husband, Joel of Billerica and Sharon Charest of Billerica; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
On Monday, April 1, 2024 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 4- 7 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury 978-851-2061. Burial will take place privately.
