Robert Thomas "Tom" Evans, 51, of Omega passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jerry Golden and the Rev. Steve Moon officiating. Mr. Evans was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Frankie Sides, Gene Scarbor, Kevin Thomas, Van Holton Jr., Tracy Wilson, Don Whitaker, Bobby Underwood and Mike McBrayer served as pallbearers.
Born February 21, 1951, in Tift County, Mr. Evans was the son of the late Eskell G. Evans and Edna V. Dorman Evans. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward Thomas Lindsey. He worked in the construction business.
Mr. Evans is survived by one son, Ricky Sikes of Ty Ty; four daughters, Shelly McCloud of Valdosta, Mendy Bodrey of Cordele, Tony Turner of Ty Ty and Donna Conger of Norman Park one sister and brother-in-law, Betty J. and James Golden of Omega; and eleven grandchildren.
