Joan Marie Albrecht, 66

Joan Marie (Ellis) Albrecht, 66, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She was the life companion of 35 years to David Young.

Born in Boston, MA on October 29, 1957, she was the youngest daughter of the late Norman A. Ellis and the late Rose (Floranze) Kent.

Joanie grew up in Hyde Park and attended Boston Public Schools. In 1974 Joanie married her childhood sweetheart, Paul R. Albrecht. In 1980, Joanie moved her family to Needham, MA and began her career in the printing industry. Joanie decided to relocate her family and settle in Mansfield, MA in the late 80’s. In 1990, she met her life companion, Dave and Joan would enjoy traveling to Foxwoods to play BINGO. Joanie also loved to go to Hampton Beach with him and get a few of her favorite slices from Christy’s Pizza and play BINGO there. She was also an avid card player. She would always be ready to play a hand of Rummy or Cribbage. Joanie enjoyed collecting Betty Boop Memorabilia. You always recognized Joanie driving around town with her Bettey Boop car décor.

Joanie’s love for her family was truly unconditional. Her kindness and devotion to her family and friends could be recognized in everything she did. Holiday parties and summer cookouts meant that Joan was the first to arrive and last to leave eager to help. She always tried her best to attend all her grandchildren’s events and was their biggest supporter. She will always be remembered for her caring and forgiving nature that could be seen by all who knew her along with her witty and very independent personality.

In addition to her companion, Dave, she was the devoted mother to Paul Albrecht and his wife Amanda of Woonsocket, RI, Lisa Coe and her husband Peter of Foxborough, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of Ashley Albrecht, Hannah Albrecht, Lacey Duquette, Makayla Duquette and Bradyn Coe and her great grandson Weston Meeker. Joanie is the sister of Sandra DiMaio of North Attleboro, MA, Carol Jeanetti and her husband Robert of Dedham, MA, Dennis Ellis of Norwood, MA, Norman “Moe” Ellis of Boston, MA. Joan is the sister to the late Frankie Ellis and the late Roger Ellis. She is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours for Joan on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her Graveside Service along with burial will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Fairview Cemetery, 45 Fairview Ave Boston, MA 02136.
