HANBURY, Gail F. (Lynch) of Needham died peacefully at home on March 25, 2024 surrounded by her children.
Loving wife of the late Paul J. Hanbury and adored mother of Paul J. Hanbury Jr of Framingham, Linda Croteau of Needham, Lisa Landon of Natick, Kristin Todd and her husband Joseph of Foxboro. Grandmother of Samatha Hanbury, Paul (PJ) Hanbury, Joseph (Jess) Todd, Noah Landon, Mariah Croteau, Kathryn Todd, McKenzie Hanbury, Ethan Landon, Janine Croteau and Luke Landon. She also leaves behind siblings Brenda Lynch of Wilton, CT, Julia Maclaughlin of Boston, Charles Lynch of Fort Meyers, FL, Stephen Lynch of Wakefield, John Lynch of Manhattan Beach, CA, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Gail and her husband Paul began their wonderful adventure together when they met in Mission High School. As their family expanded, they moved to Natick and then eventually Needham on Coulton Park (“the park”) which became a rich community filled with instant and life-long friends. Gail loved to read, play golf and gather loved ones around her kitchen table. She put her curious nature and “can do” attitude to work on countless projects. From making prom dresses, stripping wallpaper, creating wedding cakes, re-caning chairs to re-pointing the chimney – no project was ever too big or out of her reach. Beloved and selfless, it was no surprise that her true sources of joy were her grandchildren. They basked in her warmth and in her endless willingness to give, include and share. Her imprint is left behind on many hearts along with her infamous pearls of wisdom like “Make it a good one”.
A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave, Needham MA on Thursday March 28th from 9:30-11:00am followed by a Celebration of Life at the Elks, 1 Morrell Street, West Roxbury at 12:00pm.
