Alexandra “Allie” Lucille Saad
2003-2024
“When you wish upon a star….makes no difference who you are….” Allie Saad knew in her heart of hearts that when you wish upon a star dreams really do come true. Allie lived her dreams like the shooting star she was. From the time Allie came into the world, her bright twinkle shone forth the love and laughter, happiness and smiles that she shared with everyone she met. And then, like a shooting star she was, Allie took to the heavens to become part of that eternal mosaic of beauty and brilliance the stars in the night sky show us each time we make that wish. This is Allie’s story….
Alexandra Lucille Saad, 20, of Mapleville, known to everyone as “Allie” passed away on Saturday evening March 23, 2024 surrounded by loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Allie is survived by her loving parents Steven and Aimee (Dompkowski) Saad of Mapleville; her brothers Steven Saad (Sarah) of Manville and Christopher of Woonsocket; her confidant, cousin and trusted friend Travis Mann of Cumberland; her Aunt Stacy Mann (Donald) of Cumberland, and her “Prince” Wyatt Oakley of Burrillville. Allie was the beloved granddaughter of Alexander (her best friend) and the late Carolyn Dompkowski of Lincoln; Joseph and Linda Saad of Woonsocket; and the late Lucille Belanger of Scituate.
Allie was a 2021 graduate of Beacon Charter School majoring in Theater Arts. It was at Beacon where Allie immersed herself and found her true passion for the performing arts. She was a member of the International Thespian Society. Allie was employed a receptionist at Anchor Pediatrics and had previously worked for Zales as an Assistant Manager, as well as Hobby Lobby and Yankee Candle.
Allie will forever be remembered for her contagious laughter, quick wit, love of a good conspiracy theory, and her compassion. Allie always believed in the best in everyone and was blessed with the gift of bringing out the best in everyone who was lucky to have Allie in their lives. She had a love of fashion, nails and makeup, never missing the opportunity to learn new techniques and practice them. She loved her annual family Disney trips and going to see Broadway shows with her Mom. Allie had an inseparable bond with her mom Aimee that mere words could never come close to describe ….to the moon and the stars ….and infinity and beyond. Allie was her Dad’s greatest adventure! Together they would seek out unique and challenging experiences. She leaves behind her constant companion and therapy dog Dug, her faithful dog Fred, and her rescue cat Mittens.
Allie’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at Hope Hospice, Rhode Island Hospital Neurosurgery, and Southern New England Rehabilitation Center for the outstanding care and attention they gave Allie and her family. They truly walked alongside Allie and were in her corner all the way as she fought her battle with her trademark mix of courage, cheerfulness and tenacity.
“When you wish upon a star your dreams really do come true”…..Allie’s dreams did come true. Allie lived each and every day of her all-too-brief twenty years with love, hope, happiness and music as her guiding forces. This will be Allie’s lasting legacy. Allie managed to pack in more fun and lasting memories in her time with us than some people do in a whole lifetime. So when you look up at the night sky, go ahead and make that wish upon a star. And just know that when a star twinkles back at you Allie’s got your wish….and it will come true!
