Margaret A. (Harkins) Doran, age 90, of Malden, died on March 20, 2024 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late William P. Doran. Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary C. (Wymbs) Harkins. Margaret was raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School.
Prior to raising her family, she was employed as a secretary for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and church. She enjoyed spending time with her sons and their children and taking care of her two cats.
Margaret was the kindest, most genuine person who forgave all and who believed that every living being deserved to be loved and to know that love was unconditional. She was there faithfully for family, friends and acquaintances. Her listening ear and advice was unmatched.
Margaret is survived by her two sons David C. Doran of Easton and Mark J. Doran of Malden and her grandchildren Hailey, Marcus, Heather, Dominic and Olivia. She was the sister of the late Kathleen “Kay” Harkins, Mary Harkins, Charles Harkins and John Harkins. Margaret was the aunt of Rosemary Lombardo and her husband Tony and great aunt of Kayla Comerford and her husband John and Brian Lombardo and his fiancée Hailey Warren.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 9-10am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30am. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
