SPRINGFIELD – Jean R. “John” Boisclair, 88, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, March 22, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in South Kingstown, Rhode Island on November 6, 1935, a beloved son of the late Lionel J. and Clara A. (Marquis) Boisclair. He was raised in Kingston and moved to Indian Orchard in 1963. He was employed for many years as a construction worker for Local 98 in Springfield and had previously worked as a Plant Mechanic for the City of Springfield DPW. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and puttering around his home working on various projects. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 56 years, Marie T. (Cinotti) Boisclair who was Called Home on March 3, 2019. He leaves his two loving children, Shawn M. Boisclair and his wife, Sara, and Michelle A. Berthiaume, all of Springfield; his seven cherished grandchildren, Giulia Boisclair and Sophia Boisclair, Lisa Dooley and her husband, Mark, Vinicius Otsuki and his fiancée, Dayana Kuhn, Nicole M. Berthiaume and her fiancé, Juan Collazo, Christopher J. Berthiaume and his fiancée, Sharon Williams, and Matthew S. Berthiaume; his four cherished great grandchildren, Ava and Aubrey Berthiaume, and Elena and Emily Collazo; his dear sister, Jeanne (Boisclair) Cinotti and her husband, Daniel; his two dear nieces, Amintha Cinotti and her partner, Andrew Vouras, and Jeanne Cinotti; and his many dear cousins, friends and extended family members. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
