Obituary



Rosemary Kiritsy, 87, of Worcester died Tuesday, March 19th in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. She leaves her husband of 12 years and partner of 65 years, Glenn Simpson, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Paul, Frank, George, Teddy, and Hugh.
Rosemary was born in Worcester, daughter of the late George and Mary (Reynolds) Kiritsy. She graduated from Classical High School.
For many years, Rosemary worked at the family fruit store, George’s Fruit, and later at Ed Hyders. She loved her customers and knew them all by name. At home, she enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, where she cooked up interesting dishes to share with friends and family.
A passionate New England Patriots fan and season ticket holder, Rosemary shared her love for the team with her husband. Together, they enjoyed cheering on their favorite team and creating lasting memories.
In warm weather, Rosemary loved being out on the lake boating with Glenn and Peter Cote every Sunday afternoon. She was also an avid skier, serving as the secretary of the Worcester Ski Club for 20 years. She and Glenn traveled to renowned ski destinations including Aspen and Lake Tahoe, where she found solace and exhilaration on the slopes. They also enjoyed several Princess Cruises, including a memorable trip to Aruba.
Rosemary had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and zest for life. She touched the hearts of all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Calling hours are Sunday, March 24th from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 25th from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
