Gloria Maria del Carmen Salazar, 88, of Ventura, CA, gracefully passed away in her sleep on March 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of boundless love and unwavering kindness. Born in Mexico City, Mexico, she embraced her role as the matriarch of her family, embodying warmth, and compassion for all. Despite her battle with severe mitral stenosis, Gloria's spirit remained resilient and full of joy.
A talented seamstress, Gloria's hands crafted not only beautiful dresses but also cherished memories for her family and all those around her who fondly called her many loving names including "Nina", "Loyita", and "Mom". Family and faith were her guiding principles. Her kindness knew no bounds. She was always willing to help in whatever way she could and always made the best of every situation. She lived a beautiful life, and her greatest joy was spending time with all of them.
Survived by her daughters, Leticia Wilson (Roy Wilson Jr.) and Gina Jimenez (Adam John Jimenez), along with 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, Gloria's spirit lives on in their hearts and all who knew her. Gloria is also survived by her younger brother, Armando Vazquez (Ney Vazquez), her younger sister, Reyna Fuentes (Aaron Fuentes), many nephews, nieces, cousins, and godchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter Salazar, her loving son, Robert Salazar, and her brother, Roberto Vazquez whom she held dear.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held on Monday evening March 25, 2024 from 4 to 8pm in the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday morning March 26, 2024 in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura. Interment will immediately follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. All whose lives were touched by Gloria's kindness and friendship are invited to join together in honoring her remarkable legacy.
