Steven “Steve” Hodgson of Reston, Virginia passed away on March 15, 2024 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Steve was born on December 27, 1954 in Medford, Massachusetts to his parents, Charles and Helen Hodgson. He grew up in Winchester, Massachusetts and graduated from Winchester High School. Steve went on to study at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Upon graduation, Steve moved to Virginia and enjoyed working as a Field Representative and Manager with the Air Line Pilots Association, International. He advised pilot negotiators during collective bargaining for thirty-eight years in the Retirement and Insurance Department.
Steve had a quick wit, keen sense of humor, and a calm, always-helpful, even-keeled demeanor. He was a great cook and enjoyed grilling. Throughout his life, he loved fishing, traveling and exploring new places, and taking long walks with his wife, Marsha. He treasured his summertime vacations with their friends at Rehoboth and Dewey Beach. Steve was a life-long Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins fan!
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Helen.
Steve is survived by his wife of 31 years and his older brother, Mark. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Steve’s memorial service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 11AM. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester, beside his parents as he wished.
