CLAREMONT ---- James ‘Jim’ Scott Mansfield, 68, gained his angel wings on Saturday, March 16, 2024, after a 15-year battle against Multiple System Atrophy.
Jim was born on October 25, 1955, in Laconia, to Bud and Fay Mansfield.
He grew up in Lakeport and was actively involved in Cub Scouts and Youth Hockey. He loved riding his Harley, logging over 100,000 miles over the years.
Jim was active with Lakeport Call Company #2 and the Laconia and Gilford Fire Departments. He was a lifelong member of Laconia Elks, serving as Chaplain and State Chaplain. Jim began his automotive career in 1973 at Manter Olds before retiring in 2014 from Plaza Cadillac due to declining health.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lou (Cochrane) Mansfield, daughters, Tracy Mansfield, Kristy Carignan (Jeff Matthews) and Stefanie Berry (Michael), grandchildren, James Masterson III, Andrew Masterson (Alex Warner), Mylah Mansfield (Kenny Shaw), Mariah Petrin (Michael), Dale Chamberlin (Ashley Severino), Caeden Berry, Bryce Berry, Jaxon Berry, Lukas Berry, Dalton Carignan and Brooklynn Carignan, great-grandchildren, Bradyn, Aiden, Carter, Remington, Sophie, Jameson and Bailee, sister Jill Coffey (Jim), brother Jeff Mansfield (Missy), nephew Benjamin Coffey (Chauntel), nieces Beth Childs (Scott Friedman) and Hannah Mansfield and great nephews Ian and Evan Childs, as well as his beloved Rottie, Molly, who was his constant companion. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia Provencal, brother-in-law Richard Provencal and niece Sharon Provencal.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
