Byron Earl Thomas, 64, of Tifton passed away Thursday, September 30, 2004, at his residence. A graveside funeral service was held for Mr. Thomas at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2004, at Cumorah Cemetery in Douglas, where he was laid to rest. Brother Fred Anderson officiated.
Mr. Thomas' cousins served as pallbearers.
Born April 6, 1940, in Tift County, Mr. Thomas was the son of the late Lonzy Otis Thomas and Edith Mozelle Adams Thomas. He was a retired industrial engineer; and he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had lived in Tift County his entire life.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Miles Thomas of Tifton; one son, Christopher Earl Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Francis Marion Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Claire Jeanette Flanigan of Tifton; and one grandchild.
