Margaret C. "Margie" (Beck) O'Halloran, a longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, March 18, 2024 at her home in Charlestown. She was 97 years of age.
Margie was born in Randolph on May 5, 1926, a daughter of the late William Beck and Margaret (Diffley) Beck. She moved to Charlestown when she was young and graduated from Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester in 1943. Margie was a homemaker who devoted herself to her family. Her favorite day of the year was the Bunker Hill Day Parade when she would host many open houses. Margie supported many Charlestown causes and sports teams. She enjoyed gardening and most recently was fond of jigsaw puzzles. She was a devoted wife who took care of her husband when he was sick.
Margie is the beloved wife of the late James M. O'Halloran. She is the devoted mother of Patricia O'Halloran and her longtime companion Ray McManus, Michael O'Halloran, Noreen Hasson, and the late Margaret Moody and her surviving husband Robert. She is the loving Nana of John, Paul, Kevin and his wife Jen, Katelyn and her husband Karl, Bridget and her partner David, Erica, Sean, and Big Nana to her great-grandchildren Aria and Kyle. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margie's Funeral on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 9 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. Her Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Her visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
