Eileen F. (Donahue) McClellan, a 14 year resident of Woburn and formerly of Charlestown, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at her home in Woburn. She was 83 years of age.
Eileen was born in Boston on April 8, 1940, a daughter of the late Michael J. Donahue and Eileen C. (Sullivan) Donahue. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from St. John's High School in Cambridge. She then furthered her education by taking classes at Boston Teacher's College. Eileen worked as a bookkeeper for several banking companies throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to Disney World and to Naples Florida. She was always up for a good road trip, even if it was spur of the moment. She also loved hosting theme parties. She was a skilled quilter and knitter, making many baby sweaters. One of Eileen's favorite hobbies was shopping at Filenes Basement. She was a member of the Charlestown Literary Society.
Eileen is the beloved wife of 64 years to William F. McClellan. She is the devoted mother of Eileen C. Belastock and her husband Gary, Susan Flaherty and her husband Robert, William F. McClellan and his wife Kathryn, and Patrick J. McClellan. She is the loving Nana to Susan Catherine, Andrew, Emily, Margaret, Catherine, Patrick, Daniel, Abigail, Declan, Sean, and Gigi to her great-grandchildren Brady, Ava Jane, and Finn. She is the dear sister of Peggy Dobbyns, Anne Kennedy, and the late Catherine O'Donnell and Claire Doherty. Loving sister-in-law to Claire Hitchman and her husband Arthur, and the late Carol McClellan. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and her close friends Judy and Louis Derosa.
