Amy Gibbs Tyson, 95, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, formerly of Tifton, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2004, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. A graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. Tyson at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. Paul Thomas officiated.
Born February 27, 1909, in Tift County, Mrs. Tyson was the daughter of the late Henry Gibbs and Ruby P. Gibbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Malcom Tyson, who was a former City Manager; and one daughter, Yvonne Dotson. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Primrose Garden Club.
Mrs. Tyson is survived by one son, Ronald Tyson of Lee's Summitt, Missouri; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
