DUDLEY – Eleanor B. “Ellie” (Burzenski) Sendrowski died Friday, March 15, 2024 in her home.
She leaves her husband of almost 58 years, Joseph E. “Joe” Sendrowski; 2 daughters, E. Sendrowski of Webster and Paula Kohler and her former husband Roger of Sandisfield, MA; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Charles, Haley Grace, Maria Teresa and Harlan Joseph; 5 siblings, Chester Burzenski and his wife Claire of Clinton, twin Paul Burzenski and his wife Andrea of Clinton, twin Paula Gosselin and her husband Joe of North Middlesex, VT, Mark Burzenski and his wife Tessie of Clinton, and Ann Martin and her husband Craig of Bolton; a close brother-in-law, John Sendrowski and his wife Leila of Thompson, CT; nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was born in Clinton and raised there, a daughter of Charles H. and Eleanor “Alice” (Rzegota) Burzenski. She graduated from Clinton High School where she was a defensive guard on the varsity basketball team. She moved to Dudley in 1966.
Mrs. Sendrowski was a senior clerk typist at Worcester State Hospital where she worked for 14 years. She then was substitute teacher and a teacher’s aide in Webster, Dudley and Sturbridge for many years before retiring.
She belonged to Saint Louis Church in Webster. Previously she was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church where she taught CCD classes and belonged to the former Holy Rosary Sodality at the church. She was also a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality at Saint Joseph Basilica in Webster.
Ellie was a member of the Polish American Veterans in Webster and of the Polish National Alliance in Dudley. She owned a motorcycle and enjoyed riding, ice fishing, arranging flowers, polka dancing, watching cowboy movies and cruising on Pierpont Pond in the “Green Flash.” She loved living on the lake and night swimming. A conservative, she was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. Talking to people was her favorite pastime. She dedicated her life to her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 2, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 on Tuesday in the funeral home prior to the Mass. Donations in her memory may be made to either the Polish American Veterans, 30 Ray Street, or to the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council, 4 Veterans Way, both in Webster, MA 01570.
