George D. Morganelli, of Burlington, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 16th. He was 92. Born in Boston, he was the cherished son of the late Danato and Pasqualina Morganelli. George was in the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
George was a sports fanatic, especially when it came to the New England sports teams. When he was not watching the games, he enjoyed watching old classic and western movies. George’s biggest passion was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
George was the beloved husband of 53 years to the late Carol (Turino) Morganelli. He was the devoted father of Steven Morganelli and his wife Kathy of Burlington, Karen Floyd and her husband Jack of Hudson, NH., and Mark Morganelli and his wife Linda of Wilmington. He was the loving Papa of Steven II, Daniella, Michael, Adam, Mallory, Caroline and Matthew. He was the caring Great Papa of Juliette, Steven III and Brody. He was the dear brother Josephine Petillo, Lena Marino and the late Nicholas, Sally and Daniel. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, March 22nd, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Margaret Church, 109 Winn St., Burlington, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 21st, from 5 to 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
